Knil ("we", "us", or "our") developed the MedGuard application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information. Please read this policy carefully before using the App.

1. Information We Collect

The App may collect the following types of information:

• Profile Information: Your name and role (elder/family member) that you set up, used to provide a personalized experience.
• Medication Information: Medication names, dosages, and reminder times you enter, used to provide medication reminder services.
• Medication Records: Your medication intake records, used to generate adherence reports.
• Voice Data: When you use the voice memo feature, the App records audio and uses Apple Speech Framework for transcription. Audio data is stored on your device; speech recognition processing is controlled by Apple's system capabilities and authorization.
• Activity Data: With your authorization, the App reads activity data from Apple Health (HealthKit), such as steps, walking distance, and flights climbed, to show your Health Overview.
• Photos: When you take photos of medications, photo data is stored only on your device.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used solely for the following purposes:

• Providing medication reminders and management services
• Generating medication adherence reports
• Providing voice memo functionality
• Enabling data sharing between family members via iCloud (requires your explicit activation)
• Reading activity data from Apple Health (requires your authorization), and sharing the Health Overview with family members through iCloud if you enable family sharing
• Sending local notifications to remind you to take medications on time

3. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: Your medication information, records, and voice memos are primarily stored on your device.
• iCloud Sync: If you enable the family sharing feature, some data is synced through Apple iCloud (CloudKit). iCloud data is encrypted and protected by Apple; we cannot access your iCloud data.
• We do not upload your data to our own servers.
• We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to any third party.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following Apple system services:

• Apple HealthKit: For reading activity data. This data is managed by Apple's privacy protection mechanisms.
• Apple CloudKit (iCloud): For data synchronization in the family sharing feature.
• Apple Push Notification Service: For sending medication reminder notifications.
• Apple Speech Framework: For speech transcription. Processing is controlled by Apple's system capabilities and authorization.

The App does not contain any third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or user tracking tools.

5. Your Rights

You have the following rights:

• Access: You can view all your data within the App at any time.
• Deletion: You can delete medications, records, and voice memos within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App will delete all local data.
• Withdraw Consent: You can revoke the App's access to health data, microphone, camera, and notifications at any time in your device's Settings.
• Data Export: You can export your medication reports and voice memos via the PDF export feature.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is designed for adults (especially elderly users) and their family members. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 years of age.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
